Its not clothes its art :)

Fashion is the art that we wear. Art that we all use to portray ourselves. With fashion we try to show who we are and with art we try to show how we feel. Both of these picture I took while a wandered the streets of london. The t-shirt was in a tiny stall in Camden market. It also held the Charlie Chaplin top (below). I loved this shop because it was so small yet had such creative and fresh ideas. However the drawing of the girl really struck me. It was street art, People had drawn on it, but the colors still shone and face worked through them. The work was so pure and simple and it was totally free, the entire world can see this painting no questions asked, take from it what you will...
Camden has its own vibe, in fact the whole of London buzzes with creativity. Which is why I cannot wait to live there. Because even the walls have expression. And i think thats just gorgeous.
Some more art street art for you to devour...

However the little stalls and shops weren't the only ones with ambiance...
Olympics inspired and totally unique from Juicy Couture  I adored the whole concept. Because it sold so much more than clothes, in fact it didn't really sell clothes at all. It sold Britain, it sold a life style. Which is what most shops do.. They sell you clothes but they make you believe in a life style. The music, shop displays, layout.. Everything. It all geared to make you believe that having these clothes will change your life. Some of my favorite windows are topshop, urban outfitters and American Apparel. They go all out but it works because the desire to go in is so great. Camden have that appeal for free they have a vibe, an aura, a special something that draws you in. That makes you want to be a part of it all.
I love window displays they're so pretty. In fact I love all shops with ambiance, I even like the changing rooms. They're like a spell because when your inside its like a different world. Liverpool one is like one big window display everything about it makes you want to shop... ALOT. It has a park, a beach, rides, shops, restaurants, a wheel.. When it was created I was so proud of my home town.
However advertising is and will always be a money making exercise. It has to be otherwise they couldn't afford the beautiful shop displays. And sometimes its important to look outside the pretty bubble. Look at the clothes themselves and be honest with your self. Do you love it and will you still love it when you exit the rabbit hole?..

However this post started about fashion and art, so art is beautiful and is such an umbrella term for a million things. I strongly believe that fashion is the art we wear to show the world who we are. And every window display is trying to tell you who to be.
"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." e.e. cummings
